If anyone has any idea what that might mean, please let me know!

I have had such a great time participating in this link up this year.  I have enjoyed hearing Winston's answers and being intentional about capturing them.  The days fly by in the blink of an eye.  I am amazed at how much he has grown and matured this year.  Makes my mama heart burst with all sorts of emotions!

Kids Behind the Blog: October Interview

1.  What do you want to be for Halloween?
A glow in the dark skeleton!!

2.  Do you like handing out candy or collecting it?
I like going up to the neighbors houses and taking my bag and saying, "Trick or Treat! Yay! Thank you!"

3.  What should Mommy & Daddy be for Halloween?
Halloween skeletons!

4.  Do you like to make a scary or happy faced Jack-o-latern?
Scary faces!!  Aaararrrg!

5.  What is the best part of Halloween?
Eating all the candy!!

From the first time I asked Winston what he wanted to be for Halloween, he was set on a skeleton!  We ordered glow in the dark skeleton jammies for everyone in the family and he was in heaven!  On Halloween, he wasn't really keen on going trick or treating - he was much more interested in handing out the candy and seeing all of the costumes that came to the front door.  He would say, "Oh, I love your costume!" or "I see you Batman!"  He is such a sweet soul to engage in conversation and make people feel special.  Truman was content to sit in a lap and coo at people as they walked by.  These are the days, these are the days!

Shopping with Groupon Goods

Disclaimer: This post has been sponsored.  However, the opinions in this post are honest and all mine!

I am always on the look out for a great deal on kid's toys.  Having two kiddos in different stages of life, I'm interested in learning toys, books, puzzles, anything that will engage their minds and imaginations!  Also with Winston attending preschool we are in season of birthday parties galore!  So it never hurts to have a few things in the gift drawer, ready to go at a moment's notice.

Enter Groupon Goods.  Not only do they have a plethora of any kind of item you would ever need or want to purchase at great prices, they have an amazing variety of items for the kiddos!  These are a few things that are in my cart now to purchase!

These foam blocks are amazing, not just for Winston to build and create, but also for Truman to start to learn how to stack....and chew.  #teethingproblems #cheweverything

The next time you are stumped on what to get for a friend's birthday {child or adult}, take a gander at Groupon Goods and be surprised by their selection!  And be sure to by something for yourself too!  #treatyoself

Have you used Groupon before?  I'd love to know what you purchased!

Kids Behind the Blog: September Interview

1.  What is your favorite sport?  Why?
Swimming!  Because I can dive to find the squid and swim and swim.

2.  If someone gave you a million dollars, what would you buy?
I would buy a lot of toys!  A race car that I could drive all by myself!

3.  Tell me 3 things that kids do better than mommies and daddies?
Play with Truman, sleep in my bed and give Winston hugs and hugs!

4.  What is your favorite thing to do in the fall?
Dressing up for Halloween and going to the pumpkin patch at my school.

5.  Share with me three things you like about yourself.
Jesus is in my heart, my silly and my laugh.  That's it Mommy, that's it!

I wasn't sure how Winston would do answering this series of questions - but he aced it!  I am so thankful that I have done this series.  It's so fun to be able to hear what he thinks is important, fun and memorable to him!

One of my favorite things that Winston has been aware of for a while now is that Jesus lives in his heart.  He says it out of the blue, when we are singing Bible songs, when we are driving around town.  My heart just melted when that was the first thing he responded to what does he like about himself.  I am just in awe of how aware he is of that.  My prayer is that he would continue to be sensitive to the calling of the Lord on His life.

Next month's questions are all about Halloween and the link up is on October 12th!  Click here for the list!

Pumpkin Decorating: Timmy the Turtle

Come every September, we receive a crafting pumpkin to decorate as part of our office's Annual Staff Pumpkin Decorating Contest.  Each staff member, doctors included, must decorate a pumpkin.  All of the pumpkins then get displayed at the offices for our patients to vote on during the months of October and November.  My favorite part is seeing the creativity of our staff and then trying to guess which pumpkin will be the favorite for that year!

Our first year we did the Cheeseburger {and won!}.  Two years ago we did Metal Mouth.  Last year we decided to keep it simple.  Since Benjamin loves turtles, we thought that might be something unique that no one else would create.  After slicing the pumpkin in two, we enlisted Winston's help in turning our orange pumpkin green!  We made sure he had on the proper hand protection and away he went!
Winston was properly supervised {with an empty spray can!} at all times.  Did you really think we'd let a two year old really handle a loaded can of spray paint?!
Once satisfied with his work, we left the two halves to dry.  The next steps involved Crayola air dry modeling clay.  And quite a bit of it too!
I molded a head, fins and legs out of the modeling clay and attached it to the pumpkin.  Timmy was starting to shape up nicely, but his shell was looking a little blandish.  I busted out the paints and tried to make his shell have a little more depth.
The last and final step for our little friend was to give him eyes!  What kind of eyes do I hear you ask?  Why, googly eyes of course!!  The only kind that exist in our house!
Timmy turned out perfectly!  Although he didn't place in the finals, he is one of my favorite pumpkins that we've made so far.

Here are a few of my favorites from last year's contest:

Our blank pumpkin is staring at me as I type this and our ideas are swirling.  I'm excited to get started on preparing our creation for competition!  What are some of your favorite pumpkin decorating ideas?

Kids Behind the Blog: August Interview

1.  What was your favorite thing that you did over the summer?
I loved going swimming!  And going to San Antonio and Dallas.  And flying on Chewy.  {note: All planes are named Chewy... why?  I do not know!}

2.  What's your favorite thing to learn at school?
New songs!!

3.  Who is your best friend from school?
Devin and Taylor and Hudson and Reagan and everyone from my class.

4.  What do you want to be when you grow up?
A big brother and an Olympian.  I will swim super fast with my long arms!

5.  What is your least favorite thing about school?
I don't not like anything, Mommy.  I just love all of school!

We start school in September, but I just love his little answers to these questions.  My favorite answer is the one to what he wants to be when he grows up!  He is a little swim machine and can tread water like a frog!  Plus, it is true that watching the swimming events in the Olympics helped Winston to decide that he wanted to learn how to swim on his back.  {Thanks Michael Phelps!}

Favorite Things Blogger Exchange

Today I am joining in the Secrets of a Stay at Home Mom and Seeing All Sides with the Favorite Things Blogger Exchange.  I was so excited when I saw this exchange and knew exactly what I was going to send to my partners.  Plus, who doesn't love receiving happy mail?  I received two different names and was pumped that they both had kids....because I sent two things to my partners: Bunch o' Balloons and a Sephora Face Mask!

Y'all.  I think I love these Bunch o' Balloons just as much or even more than Winston!  They are super easy to fill up, they are an awesome quick activity for outside, and who doesn't love to throw a water balloon around?  Everyone.  Everyone I know loves to throw a good water balloon!  I have bought them in bulk this summer.  So much so that they pick up lady at Wal-Mart doesn't even as for ID anymore!  #imighthaveanaddiction You can find them on Amazon, at Target and at Walmart.  They are cheaper in stores vs. Amazon by almost $2.00.
A tip for filling the balloons: Hook the attachment to your hose and then hold the balloons so that they are touching the bottom of a bucket or container.  This will allow the balloons to fill up with more water, making them heavier and easier to pop with more of an explosion!
They are just SO MUCH FUN!

The Sephora Face Mask is the perfect compliment to this activity because it wears a mama out.  Using this mask revitalizes your face, is super easy to use and it guarantees that you get at least 20 minutes of relaxation time to yourself!  I normally lay on the floor in my closet, play some spa music from Pandora {I'm looking at you Enya!}, close my eyes and ponder on the events from the day!

What I Received
I received this awesome care package from Sarah and I love all three things!  The lip gloss is so soft and smooth!  The Trident layers is packed in my carryon bag as I type this for the trip we are taking and this smudge brush is amazing!
My second package was from Crystal and man, who doesn't love a gift card to Amazon!  I agree that Amazon makes the top of the list as one of my favorite things too!!

Thank you ladies for hosting such a fun swap!!

What's On Your: Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Watch List!

Good Wednesday to you, beautiful people!  Today we are talking about all things television shows as I share what is on our watch lists!

Until last fall, we were Hulu/Netflix/Amazon only people.  We didn't have cable and it was awesome!  We could still see everything we would possibly want to... except for Baylor football games.  So the hubs decided to get a cable service so that he could cheer on his alma mater during football season.  We kept our Netflix and Amazon accounts but said goodbye to our dear friend Hulu as we could now record the shows that we watched on Hulu.  {Sans the Mindy Show but really, it had started to loose its appeal to me... sad face.}

CURRENT SERIES
This is currently my favorite show that we watch!  We store up multiple episodes on the TiVo so that we can watch them back to back without having to wait a whole week for a new episode!  :)  Raymond Reddington is a high profile criminal on the FBI watch list.  He voluntarily surrenders to the FBI with the demand to only work with Elizabeth Keen.  Their adventures take them on a whirlwind of bringing down underground terrorists while Elizabeth tries to discover her past and who Reddington is to her.  You can catch up on all of the previous seasons on Amazon!

We were crushed when we heard that Nashville was cancelled and now we are rejoicing that it will be back for one last season!!  Funny thing really:  I don't favor country music.  Not my favorite.  But I started watching this show during its first season thanks to Hulu.  Then one evening, Benjamin watched an episode with me and hijacked the series!  He and I both decided it's more of a nighttime soap opera that sucks you in!

This show is hilarious!  The humor is smart and clean.  The actors have amazing chemistry and the plots are comical.  They have done a fantastic job at keeping the lightheartedness and comic genius it started with!  You can catch all previous episodes on Hulu.

This is my guilty pleasure.  I'm not even sure why I started watching it but I did....and now I await for the summer season to start in a few weeks!

NETFLIX
The following shows are all available on Netflix.  They are all oldies, but are fantastically smart and witty!
This show is about a guy who is a human lie detector.  It follows Cal Lightman and his business as he is hired by clients to determine the truth in their situations.  It's fascinating!

Neil Caffery is a white collar criminal.  He finally gets caught by FBI agent Peter Burke and serves out the remainder of his prison sentence with an anklet as as CI to the White Collar Division in NY.    Using his skills as a con artist, art thief and counterfeiter Neil assists Peter in their cases.  This is basically a little more lighthearted but very similar to The Blacklist!  {Can you tell we have a type of show?!}

And then ya know, the regulars: Friends, Gilmore Girls and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt are on the watchlist too.  #classics  And you best believe I'm counting down the days for the new Gilmore Girls episodes!  My mom and I used to watch them together so we might just have to pick that back up when they are released!

So, what is on your watchlist?  I'd love to know as we are finishing up our shows right and left!

You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!

One of the items on our Summer Bucket List is ice cream truck!  I am proud to say that we are raising Winston right in the right way.  We hear the ice cream sirens and we immediately stop what we're doing, grab cash and run out the door screaming and waving our arms so that the truck will stop and dispense it's delicious treats to us.

There was this one time that the truck was on go-speed and didn't even stop at all.  So Benjamin jumped in the car and took off after it!  He caught it a few streets over and brought home a stock pile of Batman ice-creams.  Our favorite!
Duh nuh nuh nuh naaaaaa, Batman!!!

Even Lulu likes to get in on the sweet action!  There's not one member in the family {Truman included} that hasn't had a little taste of the creamy goodness!

A few Sundays ago our church had a picnic with inflatables and also what I consider a dream come true: our very own ice cream truck for the event!
Southern Ice Cream came and brought all of their Blue Bunny goodness along!  Not only did every kid line up for a tasty, cool treat so did the teenagers and adults!
So to sum it up.  We love ice cream.  All kinds.  Especially popsicles.  Ones that look like characters.  We will be eating them all summer.  And fall.  And winter.  And really, who are we kidding - in the spring too!  Because we are popsicle hoarders.

What is your favorite summer treat?
