Hello 2022!

A poem for the New Year:

Twenty twenty two coming through!

May we conquer the things we want to do, be faithful to God and love big too.

May our days be guided by His hand as we pray for our family, our friends and our land.

Let's get it done, let's have some fun and celebrate at year's end when it's all done!

2021, You Were Fun But Now You're Done.

Twenty twenty one, you sure were fun.

We made memories that I'll cherish dear.  

You afforded me time with loved ones far and near.

We took adventures - some by plane, some by car.

Some miles away and some not far {from our couch}. 😂

The days held Legos, drawing, playing, laughter, tears, encouragement, reading, fort building, battling of fears.

We held onto what we know to be true: God's amazing Word and His unending love for me and you.

Wrapping up the latest three sixty five, I find myself grateful to be in this time, to be alive. 💙

Third Grade Planet Project: Out of This World!

This year Winston had what I consider his first big school project - a planet project!  He was tasked with researching and presenting on an assigned planet.  He received a list of questions he had to answer and include in his final presentation.  The teachers also provided a list of ways that the students could showcase the information.

Lockdown on London Lane by Beth Reekles takes place right as one of the first lockdowns due to the current pandemic making its way into building.  Tenants find themselves waking up to notes beneath their doors stating that their building is on lockdown for one week with no one in and no one out.  This creates unique situations for each flat owner including two individuals who were only supposed to be a one night stand, the couple who has newly started dating and a wedding decorating party to name a few.  I knew I was going to enjoy this book when within the first five pages I had laughed out loud!  When the book ended, I kept clicking my Kindle turn page button because I wanted to know more about the characters!  Lockdown on London Lane releases in February 2022 but is on pre-order now!

Have you heard? Winston is in Third!

A new school year is upon us with Winston starting third grade!!  He has grown in inches and in maturity and I'm not sure that my heart is ready for it.  I told as friend the other day, there are times I miss the sweet little baby moments but it really is a joy and a hoot to have a front row in seeing their personalities, likes and dislikes and dreams take shape.

Truman is in Kindergarten!

I can't believe we are here.  Truman is heading to Kindergarten!  He is so ready to start the new school year in the same building as big brother! 

A Few Book Reviews

It's been a few days since I have made a post or two! In an effort to get back into it, I thought I would start will sharing reviews of a few books I've read recently.  Buckle up, here we go!

I love, loved Kate, Ben and everything in this book! In the midst of all the political who-ha that was going on in 2020, this book was a welcomed respite.  Their banter was captivating and the strife to be civil palpable.  This book gave me all the feels - my heart raced and stopped, I cheered and teared.  I read it in one night staying up way to early in the morning and instead of going to sleep, I immediately wanted to start it over again!  The writing was witty and one hundred percent showed how it is possible to hold onto something you truly value while being open minded to meet in the middle.

If you are looking for a book that captivates your imagination and emotions, pick this one up today!

Truman is in Pre-K!

How in the heck did it happen?  Truman is in his last year of preschool and my mind cannot even start to wrap around it!  Even with the weird start to the year, this kid is looking forward to seeing friends and having fun at stations!

Truman's love of sharks and monster trucks has not wavered even a smidge and it makes my heart so happy!

What is your favorite color?

Orange.

What is your favorite food? 

Pizza!  Cheese Pizza from MOD!

What is your favorite holiday?

Christmas.

Me: Really? I thought you would say Halloween.

TAC: I love Christmas because if you ask Santa for something he gets it for you and makes it!

What is your favorite thing to do with Mom?

Play Duplos and trains.

What is your favorite thing to do with Daddy? 

Go to the store!

Benjamin: You certainly have been my HEB buddy this year!

What is your favorite thing to do with Winston? 

Sleep with him and sit by him because I likes to snuggle with him.

What was your favorite thing you did this summer?

I loved going to Watercolor beach and the huge waterslide!

What are you most excited about this year in school?  

Playing and doing science and doing math.

What do you want to be when you grow up? 

Ooooo! Not a monster truck driver.  Cause you can only do it one day.  I want to be a Dad. I just want to stay home every day and be a stay at home Dad!

What is your favorite movie?

That's a hard one. Star Wars!

What is your favorite toy or stuffed animal?

Soapie the Giraffe, Moo Moo the Zebra and trains!
