True Love

My sweet husband is my true love.  He puts up with me on my crazy, goofy days.  He takes me shopping and often obliges my obsession with Yogurtville.  He purchases a new three lane slip'n'slide for his girls because the other one is passed it's prime and naturally, all three of us need our own lane.  He takes care of me when I go through what we think is a second kidney attack - pinning my hair back for me and refilling bags of ice.

I love him with all that I have in me - from the bottom of my toes, to the tips of my head.  Thank you Lord for blessing me with more than I could have dreamed.

Margaret's Chicken

I have an Aunt Margaret who lives in Pennsylvania.  She is robust, funny, and growing up she would call me "Little Donna" because to her, I looked almost exactly like my mom did when she was little.  Visiting her house normally meant an opportunity to go swimming in her pool!

Recently I have been introduced to a second Margaret...  well, not exactly to her, but to her chicken.  I came across her recipe in one of my cookbooks and it has become a favorite of ours.

Ingredients:

4-6 chicken breasts
4-6 pieces of Swiss cheese
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1/2 soup can of dry white wine
slivered almonds

First off, preheat your oven to 350.  Clean your chicken and place in a greased baking dish.  Cover the chicken with Swiss cheese.

Next, mix together the wine and cream of chicken soup in a bowl.  I am no wine connoisseur, so when a recipe calls for it, I normally pick one with a fun label!  Fish Eye works great!

Pour the mixture over the chicken.
You can either add the slivered almonds before or after you bake the dish - I have tried both ways and it tastes delish however you choose to do it!

Bake for 1 hour.  You will smell deliciousness and want to take it out early - but don't as it's worth the wait!

Serve with rice, some veggies and rolls.

It's been my pleasure to introduce you to Margaret's Chicken!  Hope that it becomes a favorite for you as well!

Bow Wow Breakfast

Hello All!

Today, Cozy Pet Photography was invited to be part of the first Bow Wow Breakfast hosted by Coffee N Cream at the Village in Allen.  Along with Benjamin and I, there was Concierge4Critters and Specialty Pet Training.  We were there to take pictures of the event and had a fun time meeting all that came out!  Stefanie, the owner of Concierge4Critters, and Coffee N Cream have decided to host a Bow Wow Breakfast the last Saturday of every month as a place for pets and their owners to have some treats and make new friends!  The next one is Saturday, May 29th - so make sure to put it on your calendar and come on out!

Bucket List

Benjamin and I have spent many hours in the car going back and forth to Houston over the years that we have lived here in Dallas.  During those times we would talk about things that we want to do, places we want to visit, and ideas that someday we hope to make a reality.

At the beginning of the new year, we purchased a small notebook that I can carry in my purse so that we could write these things down as they came to us.

Thus began our Bucket List notebook if you will.

We have two lists of sorts: one for Dallas and one for life.  We know that our time in Dallas is limited to either one more year or four more years (yes, I realize that's a big span of time!) so we wanted to make sure we did everything we wanted to before moving on.

So far we have marked two things off of this list: Arboretum and Allen Americans Game.  This summer we are doing a "stay-cation" for a long weekend and will do the 6th Floor Museum.  The others will have to wait for this fall!  I am uber pumped for Grape Stomping!

The one for life is up to three pages now and while most of them are places we want to visit, there are a few that are things we want to do as well: own a Corvette, pet Shamoo, horseback riding...  ya know, the usual.

This summer we are excited about marking two things off our Life List!  My grandfather is turning 80 so we are heading to the great Key Stone State to celebrate with family.  We are gonna fly into Cleveland to that we can go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1) and while we are at Camp we are going to drive to Punxsutawney (2) to see Phil and explore the town.

This has been something fun that Benjamin and I have enjoyed doing together and every time we think of something new, it's fun to be able to write it down...and who knows - perhaps one day even mark it off the list!

Do you have a bucket list?  What are some of the things on your wish list?  What do you enjoy doing that's unique to Dallas?

Working Wednesday

Today I had the awesome opportunity to work from home.  Just because.  It was fantastic!  I miss working from home - I always feel more productive, like Super Woman!  In between answering emails and entering purchase orders I washed clothes, baked cookies and took Lulu for a walk.

Speaking of Lulu, she was my work buddy today.  I could go for a work buddy like her everyday!

The Little Things for Wednesday

Today is Wednesday.  The middle of the week.  I have a love/hate relationships with Wednesdays.  On the one hand, they are marvelous because the signify that half of the work week is over!  On the other hand, they remind me that there is still half of the week to go...

Here are the things that made this Wednesday great!

I ate at Del's Charcoal Burgers for lunch.  They have homemade root beer (which was fabulous!) and burgers that were perfectly done.  I plan on taking Benjamin to share in the awesomeness of Del's soon!

Today was JA day.  And there is just something fantastically simple about Nilla wafers.  Kids love 'em.  Adults love 'em.  They are just simply declicious!

Benjamin has to work at the Ortho office this evening, so I will be able to catch up on my Dancing with the Stars!  And for those of you that are wondering about Xanadu.... It was funny and entertaining!  If you are able to get tickets - I say do it!  It's a spoof off of the 80's movie with Olivia Newton-John.  If you like the 80's, roller skates and musicals, you will like Xanadu!

Small Things...

A few months ago I came into work one morning to find the two scenes of murder played out below on my desk!

It's the small things like this that make me so thankful for my co-workers!
