Project 52: Week 2014.31

This week my Dad's parents were in town for a visit.  The family came over for a meal and we were able to get a few good photos thanks to the handy tripod!  We celebrated Lulu's sixth birthday and she completely sacked out from the celebrating!  We went to Hess for a visit with the old gang and Winston had his first Irma's experience.  We did a lot of painting this week - on paper, the table and our hands!  Each masterpiece turned out beautifully!  We also wrapped up our weekend with a trip to the zoo!

Project 52: Week 2014.30

This week my little Bug decided it was fun to stand by the roses, smile and say cheese.  When I asked if he wanted his picture taken he said, "Yes!" and proceeded to keep cheesing.  I just love how he keeps growing and developing!  One night this week my Mom and I went shopping leaving Benjamin and WAC to have man time together.  Winston conquered the playground slide and all three of us went back on Friday so that I could see!  Then we had swing time and Winston was the happiest when all three of us were pumping our legs into the sky side by side!  He went to Monday Funday this week, had a visit from Great Grandparents Johnson, lunched with some of Mommy's work friends, saw Benjamin's parents and every good week has froyo!  A few weeks ago he started calling me "Mommy" and Benjamin "Daddy."  I noticed this week that we have officially moved from Mama and Dada.  He continues to be a little parrot and it is astounding to me how much he already understands.  I look forward to each day as it always holds something new for both of us!

Project 52: Week 2014.15

Grammy turned 80 this year and to celebrate the ladies in the family all met up in Newark, Ohio for a long weekend at the Longaberger Homestead.  I made my very own basket, shopped and got to spend really great time with my aunt, cousins, great aunts, mom and grammy!  I intend to do a full post of our trip before the year is out!  :)

Project 52: Week 2014.14

This week happened to be my Golden Birthday: 31 on the 31st!  As I do every year, I took a day of vacation for my birthday {even though my last day was three days later!} and spent it with the most important people in my life.  I can sum up how I feel about having celebrated by 31st year in one word: Thankful.  

Project 52: Week 2014.13

This week is all about our little girl Lulu.  The month of March was a difficult month for Lulu.  She started showing the same symptoms of back pain that she had last summer.  We quickly took her to our vet to see what we needed to do, other than try to keep her from moving around too much.  At the recommendation of Dr. Webb, we started Lulu on laser treatments for the inflamed area which was much lower than where her surgery was.  It was really amazing to see how the treatments relieved her pain and inflammation.  In total Lulu received 4 treatments over two weeks.  That along with a ton of rest and cuddles brought her back to her normal self!  

Project 52: Week 2014.12

Winston's trick of balancing a water cup on his feet!  He gets such a kick out of it!  We also were able to get a few snaps of our own leprechaun who has brought us more joy than a pot of gold ever could!

Project 52: Week 2014.11

On the Friday that we stayed at home this week, Winston and Lulu enjoyed playing with the water table.  Winston was more interested in watering the grass and Lulu was all about drinking what he was giving!  Winston and I often enjoy a break at Starbucks now and again for Petite Madeline's and a green tea.  Benjamin had to answer over 400 questions for a psych test, so he printed me a copy so that we could compare answers!  It was also a big week for us because Benjamin became Board Certified!!

Project 52: Week 2014.10

Each day Winston gets more interested in using a fork and in this night in particular he aced it with his fish sticks and 'ronis.  For a kid who absolutely loves hats, Winston does not enjoy the hood on his hooded towel... so this was a rare moment of Little as a shark!  Benjamin and I inhaled three-fourths of this king cake...and never found the baby so I am left to say that it was in the portion that we did not eat.  Mom and I went to the theatre and had a nice time watching The Wizard of Oz!  

Project 52: Week 2014.08

We survived a long week of fighting a virus and four teeth by cuddling with Lulu and watching Thomas the Train... or "Toot, toot!" as Winston calls him!  By Saturday afternoon, Winston was back to his normal self and we were able to enjoy the fabulous weather and the swing.  That kid loves a good swing!

Project 52: Week 2014.07

On the Monday of the week of Valentine's Day, I received a beautiful delivery of flowers to my office from my sweet boys!  Brightening up my week and my workspace it was a wonderful reminder of the two biggest blessings in my life!  Benjamin worked hard on putting together Valentines for the ladies at the office.  A token of gratitude for the work they do!  I took Valentines Day off and spent it with my Winston.  Our day included a date to McDonald's, the grocery store, Gap and froyo!  

Project 52: 2014.05

We wrapped up January with a new hair do at Flair Salons, watching the rockets with friends and of course having tons of splish-splashes at bath time!  I also thought I'd put in a little proof that I do work during the day...with a really fun huge wall white board!  

Project 52: 2014.04

Last week the weather was beautiful at the start of the week and then got supa' cold and icy at the end of the week!  My boys enjoyed some time soaking up the sun and they shared an ice cream cone at McDonald's after church on Sunday.  I just love Winston's Silly Sausage jams.  We bought them when we were in Aberdeen last Spring and they finally fit!  In the evening, WAC and I spend time playing with Squigees after dinner.  Instead of sticking them to themselves to build a structure, we stick them to our heads!

Project 52: Week 2014.03

One of my favorite things to do in the evening before Benjamin, Lulu and I head to bed is to walk into Winston's room to check on him one last time.  He's just such a precious muffin and I get a kick out of seeing what position he has managed to contort his body into.  Some nights his head is wedged against the corner buried in the bumper pads, some nights he has all of his blankets beneath him with bum in the air.  One night this week, he insisted on going to bed with his antler hat and this is how I found him...cuddling with Kermit.  He's always been a great sleeper and not a night goes by that I don't thank the Good Lord for that!  Benjamin went to Phoenix for a conferenced so I took the Friday he was gone off because there were house things to be done.  In the midst of being home for appointments, we enjoyed some fresh air in Old Town Spring and a Starbucks date with Dharma!  That boy loves him some petite madelines!

Project 52: Week 2014.02

Not much to report this week as Winston was fighting the arrival of two top molars, which thankfully have almost made their way through, along with a head cold due to the crazy weather!  Plus after dodging the sickness most of this winter (thankfully!), Benjamin came down with the newest strain of whatever has been traveling around and I've been suffering with a head cold!  Needless to say after all of that we did a lot of cuddling, couch time and Thomas time.  On an up note: I have cooked more this year so far than we have eaten out - so yay for that!

Project 52: Week 2014.01

A few years ago, and I do mean quite a few.... (2011 when I look back!) I took on what I called Project 52 due to my husband's wisdom of not wanting to get myself down if I didn't take a daily picture.  Now with the ease and quality of pictures on the iPhone, it's been recently that I have taken a picture almost daily - and I love it!  On the other hand, my computer memory and iPhoto library suffers from constant use!  

What I enjoyed about Project 52 is that is required me to be mindful and disciplined to take photos and then take time to highlight and be thankful for what had come to be in that past week.  And at the end of it all Benjamin made me a really neat book with all of my collages making a memorable souvenir if you will on what our life was like in 2011!  We already create a book for each year we're married, but the Project 52 book gave a completely different perspective - a more day to day perspective.  

With all of that prologue now complete, I am making one of my goals for this year Project 52 2014!  Some of the photos might be familiar to you if you follow me on instagram or if they are used in a post that I write up, so I will try to keep them fresh and new!  I am hopeful that I will be able to keep up with it and perhaps I can even get Benjamin to contribute a few photos!  

Happy New Year from the Crazy Cozads!  I made our traditional meal of pork, sour kraut, dumplings, mashed potatoes and carrot soufflé.  The bottom left photo is how Lulu and Winston talk with each other when Winston has woken up from his naps.  And before the weather got crazy weird with the polar vortex, Winston played outside in Mommy's hat in his truck!

Project 52 - End of the Year

Bear with me as the last 10 weeks of the year unfold before your eyes....

I did not take any photos this week, but Benjamin did.  Above are shots of his co-residents and doctors in the clinic.  This was in preparation of interviews for the 2012 class!  As a side note, interviews went super well and our sweet friend Kenner clinched a spot in Houston!  We are thrilled to have him join the UT Ortho family.

Crazy Cozads Christmas Celebration!

Another goal successfully completed!!  I so enjoyed putting these together and being cognitive to take photos every week.  I haven't yet decided if I'll do it again in 2012, posting every week... but in a nice way it was a fun thing to do to wrap up the week.  It allowed for great conversation between Benjamin and me.  It also has really allowed me to take time to realize how fortunate and blessed I am - in the big things and in the little things that I get to observe daily.  Nothing is too small to be thankful for it.

Project 52: Week 41 + 42

Rainbow after a much needed down pour!  Shnazzy shoes that the sales man told me would give me bad ankles.  Mom said they look like a Mexican blanket.  Someday they'll be mine.  Benjamin's Ortho bat in honor of Halloween!

Breast Cancer Awareness rally in Discovery Green.  Looked out my office window one morning and there was this huge inflatable pair of boobs.  Of course, an after lunch field trip ensued!

Project 52: Week 38, 39 + 40

Sweet Dexter came to visit us for the first time.  He and Lulu got along well and are now old friends.

This was the week that I started my new job, we found a bat half alive in the backyard that Benjamin pummeled with a shovel, I learned to spell my last name correctly and we were there when David Crowder Band's amp caught fire.

So the Oil Company has Starbuck's coffee for cheap.  Real cheap.  I get a medium latte of my choosing and a muffin for $2.00 every morning.  Every morning.  Benjamin and I went to hear our friend's high school band play the halftime show at The Rig in Pearland.  Celebrated my hubby's 27th birthday!

Project 52: Week 37
