Friday Favorites

After a week of laying low and getting over the sickies, we all were ready for a new week of routine and wellness!
Over the weekend, this little glasses holder arrived on my doorstep and instantly improved my quality of life! πŸ˜‚ I might even go as far as saying this has been my favorite purchase of the year so far!  {I even ordered a second one!}

Truman and I had a jammie day on Monday.  We spent a lot of time working on his Lego Movie 2 sticker book.  It combines two of his favorite things: stickers and the Lego Movie!
Tuesday I was able to sit in on our local BSM Free Lunch day!  I attended community college for my first year and BSM was my favorite organization on campus.  It was where I found community and encouragement.  Plus it was Chuy's day which I mean, who doesn't say that creamy jalepeno is their favorite?! πŸ˜‚
Truman was so thoughtful to bring me home some leaves from the school playground.
And he was my star egg cracker!  It requires a lot of patience but when the buddies want to help me in the kitchen I try to let them.  They really are always so proud to help.
Truman spotted his favorite Cars character, Lightening McQueen, when we were out shopping at Wal-Mart.  Needless to say he wanted to wear them right away, and who was I to discourage his enthusiasm!  πŸ˜‚
I wrapped up two huge boxes for one of my favorite service projects that we do at the office.  We hold a peanut butter and jelly collection to donate to a local food pantry to help with the increased need of those items as parents gear up for summer for their kiddos.
Winston got a haircut and we had to take some photos on the buddies' favorite set of rocks!  Notice Truman is still wearing his slippers!
Sweet moments like this one are my favorite. 😍
And Benjamin brought home my very favorite appreciation gift that he receives each year - a delicious King Cake straight from N'ahlans. {New Orleans} πŸ˜‚  Which of course we ate in our bed after the littles were all tucked into theirs!

This week was also MOPs week.  I love a MOPs Thursday!  This week we made breakfast bags for our local Meals on Wheels program.  Breakfast bags are one of my favorite activities.  All of us were able to have a chance to fellowship together while we decorated the bags with encouraging phrases, puns, and drawings.
Winston brought home some writing he did at school and this was one of my favorite ones from this week.  It says "Plant Potatoes.  1. Potatoes grow in the ground.  2.  Along comes the harvester, down they go.  3.  Up, up, up they go."

Here's a few things that caught my eye while I was perusing the internets. πŸ˜‚
πŸ’šPot of Gold slime for St. Patty's Day from Simple Play Ideas
πŸ’šThis new book, The Good Egg, from the same author that wrote The Bad Seed
πŸ’šThese awesome Reebok kicks; how are you even supposed to pick one color?!

Soon we head out for Spring Break shenanigans!
What are your Spring Break plans?

Happy Weekend beautiful beams!

  2. We used to have loads of Lightening Mcqueen supplies around; including those slippers. My middle son once brought tons of acorns home from school in his pocket... which my youngest son discovered when he got to wear the coat a year or two later as a hand me down. Those acorns actually sprouted!

  3. I miss MOPS! I loved going to that when we lived in Mississippi. We have those same Lightning McQueen slippers. Fletcher is obsessed. Does Truman love the Cars mini racer cars? They're a big hit at our house. Both of my kids love playing with them. Hope you're having a great weekend. Glad you are all feeling better.
