April. What a strangely beautiful and wildly weird month you were. With COVID-19 closing down school buildings and businesses, we did our best to keep up with online learning and enjoy the breathing room this time has given us.

What's Up Wednesday January 2020
With a new year comes a new start at documenting the things. Last year I did gangbusters at the start and then we disappeared for a month and I never made the time for it, although I really do want to get down all of our fun fall time adventures. For another day! Today is about a recap of January so here we go!

What's Up Wednesday: April Edition
What We're Easting This Week
This week we are eating things like Crust take out, Italian chicken, Fish sticks + mac and cheese!
What I'm Reminiscing About
We took the boys to a little circus that came to town. Benjamin and I had seen this circus when we lived in Allen! This time however, Winston and I had the opportunity to ride Tracy the Elephant! I remember riding an elephant with my mom when I was little and it has always been on of my favorite things. I was so pumped to be able to share this fun experience with Winston!
What I'm Loving
Now with two little humans to take along grocery shopping, I was highly intrigued when I came across Baby Binxy on Instagram. I visited their website and purchased the Raindrops in Blue and stalked my mailbox for it's arrival. Arriving just a few days later, I was pumped to go on a Target run, try out the hammock and see how Truman liked it. Happily, not only did he look like a comfy muffin, Winston also loved having Truman so close behind him!
I was wildly impressed with how many groceries I could still fit in the cart {and the bags after!}. The Baby Binxy has made grocery shopping fun and easy! If you'd like to buy one for yourself or as a gift, click here to get a 10% discount!
What We've Been Up To
We have all been fighting the crud {except for Truman, he has remained healthy! Thank you Jesus!}. Our days have been full of jammies, snuggles and every once in a while we venture out into public!
What I'm Dreading
....I'm not sure that I have anything that I need to be dreading...

What I'm Working On
I'm currently brainstorming my Summer Bucket List! I'm part of a new link up that launched this month and next month's topic is What's On Your... Summer Bucket List.
This is our list from last summer! Do you have any suggestions? We'd love for you to join in with us!

What I'm Excited About
I can hardly believe that summer is around the corner, but I am pretty excited about getting to spend the days with both of the boys! We have a few fun things on the calendar and lots of days that I intend to fill with playing in the new pool!
What I'm Watching/Reading
Benjamin and I have been watching....

I've also been reading Wild and Free. You can still get it on pre-order through Amazon and I highly encourage you to do it!

What I'm Listening To
In the evenings we turn on some jamming tunes while I'm making dinner and have dance sessions! Our house is wired for surround sound and we have a Sonos. I wasn't sure how I'd like it - but I absolutely love it!
What I'm Wearing
CONTACTS! :)
CONTACTS! :)
My very last set of contacts ripped in half when we were in Chicago! And because I needed an updated prescription for some new frames we had purchased, I went to the eye doctor for a check up. And got some contacts!
Have no fear, the glasses will still be around but it's nice to have "just eyes" as Winston says!
What I'm Doing This Weekend
Spending time with my boys at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Who doesn't love kiddos who nap? I think they look alike in these photos! :)

What's Up Wednesday: March Edition
Today I am joining Shay, Shaeffer and Mel for What's up Wednesday! Every month on the last Wednesday I'm going to be answering the following prompts! I didn't participate last month as we were still transiting into being a family of four!
What We're Eating This Week
This week we had our easy favorites that include: tortellini and a visit to Chuy's!
What I'm Reminiscing About
Our Easter weekend! We had such a lovely laid back morning with the boys opening gifts from the Easter bunny and playing with said gifts! Then we got ready for church and all of the boys indulged my mama request for pictures together!
We did an Easter egg hunt with our niece, Penelope. It was so fun to see her and Winston discovering the eggs and helping each other out! I'm looking forward to next year with Truman will be in on the action!
What I'm Loving
I am loving the photos from the photography session we had with Katie Hill Photography when Truman was one week old. I mean, this just warms a mama's heart!
What We've Been Up To
Lately we have been adjusting to life with the four of us {plus Lulu!}.
Winston still wakes up each morning on the look out for Truman, or Trumy as he calls him most times. He loves to be right where he is or at least know where he is at all times. Winston loves to hold Truman and any time he asks, we say yes. {With supervision of course!}
We have managed to take Winston to and from school, get groceries, do some shopping at the mall, make doctors appointments and have a load of jammie days! I am learning the best way to manage our time on the mornings we have places to be. So far it is safe to say we are all doing very well!
What I'm Dreading
I'm not sure that I'm dreading anything in the upcoming weeks. Although Truman's next doctors appointments involve some shots...so that will be a bit unpleasant for the tiny!
What I'm Working On
...Being a mom of two! Haha!
I am actually working on hosting a monthly link-up that should be fun and easy! Stay tuned!
What I'm Excited About
This week is my birthday week! Woo hoo! I will be thirty three tomorrow! I love reasons to celebrate and birthdays are a pretty big reason to celebrate in my book! I don't quite mind getting older. With each year I experience new things, I grow in different ways and I get to spend my days with the people that I love most of all in this world. More than anything I always find myself being thankful for the days that I've had!
What I'm Watching/Reading
Well, I have finished Friends. All 10 seasons.
{moment of silence for the end}.
By accident I started watching the movie Thor.
And in that was reminded how much I enjoy the Marvel franchise movies.
Sooooo.. I decided I need to watch them all in chronological order.
Having already seen the first two Iron Mans, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers, we have watched Iron Man 3 and next on the list is Thor: Dark World.
Have you watched these movies? Are you a Marvel comic fan?
And as far as reading goes, I downloaded Smart Girl by Rachel Hollis to read on the plane. It is the third book in her series. If you like fun, light, smart, easy reads I highly suggest you go read all three: Party Girl, Sweet Girl, Smart Girl
What I'm Listening To
These days I am listening mostly to baby coos and cries, Winston as he plays and tells me about his day and imagines great things, the Lulu puppy barking or the recap of my husband's day! :)
In the car to and from anywhere we go these days Winston requests the number seven song which in my CD player equates to "This is Not the End" by Gungor.
What I'm Wearing
These days I'm wearing everything comfy! Comfy, long dress, pajamas and LuLa Roe leggings have been my jam.
It's hard to wear real pants {pants with a zipper} after having a C-section.
Enter Hue leggings.
These babies are awesome. They give the look of wearing jeans without actually being jeans! They are very comfy and I'm thinking they might replace all of my jeans.... Hooray for the elastic waistband! :) They are also a good price point{$45 - $55} which is way less than designer jeans! You can find them on their website, Amazon, Nordstrom and Dillard's!
What I'm Doing This Weekend
This weekend I am celebrating my birthday! The husband has surprised me with a trip and I am looking forward to experiencing all that he has planned!
What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month
Bunco, friends visiting from out of town and lots of family time are just a few of the things that I am looking forward to in April!
What Else is New
I have my Spring hair color and I love it to bits! It is a dark plum on the base with lavender and soft pink highlights!
What bold color would or have you dyed your hair?
{shirt}
What is Your Favorite Spring Cleaning Tip?
I'm not sure I have any good spring cleaning tips other than this is the time of year that I weed out any of the clothes I didn't wear over the winter. If I didn't touch it or if I moved it from one side of the close to the other but it wasn't on my body... it has to go! I also make Winston try on spring/summer clothes from the previous year and fold up or give away anything that is too small!

What's Up Wednesday: January Edition
Today I am joining Shay, Shaeffer and Mel for What's up Wednesday! Every month on the last Wednesday I'm going to be answering the following prompts!
What We're Eating This Week
This week we are chowing down on some goodies: Shake and Bake pork chops and Spaghetti Squares {a family favorite!}.
What I'm Reminiscing About
Benjamin retrieved the first two bins of baby clothes from storage a few weeks ago and I've started going through them and sorting what I think might work for Truman. Seeing all of the adorable tiny clothes has been reminiscing about some of my favorite outfits that Winston wore when he was first new.
This one with the turtle is one of my ultimate faves for a few reasons: 1. When Winston was slow in making his debut into the world we started saying he was like a turtle, slow and steady he would make his appearance at his own perfect time. 2. They kept saying how huge WAC was going to be so I purchased like zero newborn clothes. Then he arrived and was smaller than 0-3 month clothes! So of course that put this first time mama into a tizzy and we hit up any kids clothing store that had tiny outfits. This one was discovered and came home with us for reason one.
Needless to say, this little outfit is being tucked away in a box that will remain just Winston's things.
For mamas with multiple kiddos of the same gender, did you find yourself reserving certain outfits for just the first one that wore them for sentimental reasons?
What I'm Loving
Chocolate gummy bears + chocolate covered sunflower seeds from Lolli & Pops have been my jam of late. Benjamin got me a jar from there for Christmas with 52 refills and so far every visit I have filled the jar to the brim with mostly these two delicious morsels!
What We've Been Up To
Benjamin and I have been in the groove of cleaning out this month. We both have the "we might need this someday" disease on different things. With the pending arrival of Truman we've had to clean out our extra room and rearrange another to make room. This then spurred on the clean out! Every week this month I have made a stop at our local Goodwill drop off center and am on a first name basis with the workers there!
We have also been in the "get it done before Truman arrives" mode as far as getting a few projects around the house wrapped up. We've spiffed up our dresser with new knobs, ordered curtains for our room, ordered new bar stools, changed every lightbulb in the house to a brighter white {I can see!!!}... you know... just little things like that.
We have also been trying to make the most of every weekend we have together with Winston. So that means like last weekend we went to BrickFest and Monster Jam!
What I'm Dreading
The switch to weekly appointments starting the first week of February! Although I am thankful for the great medical care I receive and have a great relationship with my doctor those weekly appointments are the true sign that the end is nearing!
What I'm Working On
My post for the Kids Behind the Blog link up! I am excited to see how Winston answers these questions! I am certain that as we have two little people toddling around I'm going to want to remember more and more who said what!
We are also working on finishing up Truman's nursery!
What I'm Excited About
Besides being excited about welcoming Truman into our world, I am excited to see Winston be a big brother. He loves little kiddos {and big kiddos too!}. I know that we will have some challenging days ahead, but I am thankful and excited about our new family picture!
What I'm Watching/Reading
I have been watching Friends on Netflix lately and enjoying seeing the clothing styles change throughout the seasons! I also spied my first laptop computer making an appearance in one of the episodes! Yup, that's right, I had an iMac clam shell! In orange!
I've also been reading The Best Yes and find myself highlighting huge chunks of sections at a time! :) One of my favorite authors, Rachel Hollis just announced the release of her newest book, Smart Girl, so that's getting downloaded tonight!
What I'm Listening To
I put my Gungor CD into Kermit about two weeks ago and Winston instantly loved Brother Moon, or as he says, "the number two song!" As soon as we get settled into the car he is asking for it from the backseat. I love hearing his sweet little voice singing praises to God! Melts me!
What I'm Wearing
Maternity clothes from Pink Blush Maternity, GAP and H&M have been my jam as of late.
What I'm Doing This Weekend
This weekend we are soaking up family time once again. We will have donuts, Lulu will get a heat treatment, we will have a bright yellow laundry room by the end of Saturday and things actually hung on the wall in our bedroom! {And the people rejoiced!} If the weather permits, we may even try out our Church on Sunday and gearing up for another week.
What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month
Truman's Arrival! I haven't "seen" little baby since his 20 week appointment. I am excited to meet him!
What Else is New
Winston's love for using the selfie stick on his own is comical and endearing! He totally gets a kick out of making faces and pushing the button to take pictures! We may have created a selfie stick monster!
What's Your Favorite Valentine's Day Treat
I'm not sure that I have a favorite Valentine's Day treat. I mean, I do enjoy conversation candy hearts with the best of them and for some reason chocolate turtles come to mind. And now that I'm pondering this, I think I might make some mini-cheesecakes to celebrate the day! If it's non-edible we're talking about, I'm always a sucker for fresh flowers!
What are you looking most forward to next month? I'd love to know!!
