Book List of 2019 + Top Two Favorites

Like most things in 2019, I started off really well, then took a break and when the routines started back again it was a hang on and go with it remainder of the year!  I ended the year having read 34 books and I feel good about that! {I remembered about a Christmas one I read too!}  My original goal was 2 per month and I beat it so, woo hoo!  While the first part of my reading was really well documented, my second part not so much.  😳😂  Below my top two books of the year you will find the links to all my reviews for the first part of the year and then thoughts on what I read for the remainder of the year if you're interested!

Now, for my Top Two Favorite Books of 2019:
I knew when I was into this book that it would be hard to beat and I was right.  American Kingpin is one of my top two that I read last year.  Because I raved about it so much I've had friends that have read it and they let me know that I didn't overhype it!  If you are a reader or know a reader, get this and enjoy!  The craziest thing about this story is that it is all true!

You Are the Girl for the Job by Jess Connolly.  This book is the book that you have been waiting for.  It has encouraged my heart and refreshed my soul.  While I liked Girl, Wash Your Face, I loved this book because the message of being called and being equipped is so eloquently laid out.  We are the girls for the job because of Who has called us and equipped us.  It's nothing that we've done on our own, but because of HIM!  I highly recommend this book for everyone read!

Runners Ups Include:
The Ministry of Ordinary Places by Shannan Martin
Everybody, Always by Bob Goff
The Mother in Law by Sally Hepworth

2019 Books + Reviews

The most recent book in the Royal Spyness Series, Book 12

SO GOOD.  SO GOOD!  If you love a good family shrouded in mystery and mix-up this book is for you!  I liked it so well it was one of my runners up for 2019 favorites!

This is the sequel to Gelman's first book Class Mom which I highly recommend if you have a kid anywhere near elementary school age!  You've Been Volunteered did not disappoint!  It was funny and witty and kind.  A great easy read!

I found this book very interesting and disturbing all at the same time.  While now I know a lot more about forensic science body farms, crash test dummies, how causes of plane crashes are determined and surgical procedures, I don't think I would really recommend this as an easy reading book.  However, if any of those things I've listed piques your interest, knock yourself out!

This book not only provides encouragement to be bold and gather people around your table for all occasions for community and camaraderie, it also contains tons of delicious recipes to equip you to host friends and family!

A Bakeshop Mystery Series
I found this light, little murder mystery series about a baker and have enjoyed making my way through the series.  It's cute and if you're going to be on a plane or in a car for a few hours, grab one or two of these secondhand on Amazon and enjoy!
On Thin Icing

Here's to 2020 and the same goal of 2 per month!  What is on your reading list for the year?
